Doormat from Scrap, inspired by a historic Piece

I saw this doormat at an open air museum for old farm houses here in Bavaria, and I just had to make one. It is a simple concept, easy to make, and if placed right it can be a great conversation starter.

Wondering whether such a wooden doormap will stand up to the test of time? Well, don’t drag your feet, because I made an update video one year after I made this mat, and it is still doing fine. UPDATE: It is still working well and doing fine in 2018, so go wood!
