You might have noticed that I uploaded a video every week at the end of last year. It was an experiment on many fronts. One was whether I could do it, and the answer is a strong maybe. I had to do a few emergency talky videos, which is fine, and rush a few projects, which is not. Then, at the end of the year, I decided to take a break – both for mental reasons, as well as to reassess what I am doing here (and here, and here, if you care to know). So consider this an update.
More, but Less
In essence, I want to produce content. I enjoy inspiring people and sharing ideas. Finishing a video is a good feeling, and I could do with more of that (like so many of us). Of course, time is a limiting factor, and the sweet spot has to be somewhere between taking forever to make a project perfect and getting it out the door half-finished. That’s nothing new.
What is new is that I need to find a balance between all the things I want to do, and that bring me joy. I want to make them sustainable. Looking at my YouTube “career”, I have had phases where I experienced growth, then I dropped the ball. And with the state of YouTube these days, it feels very hard to catch up.
Share all the Things
On that note, I also started a Discord server. Growing a community is one of those things that I missed out on during my early years, and I hope I can still do it today. It would be another venue for you to keep in touch with all that I do, but I want it to be a safe place for weird ideas, inspiration, and tea light holders also.
TL;DR: An Update
I don’t know yet what my new video schedule will be, but once a week did not work, all things considered. I will post more on all my sites, but keep the posts shorter. I will also try not to hold things back until they are 100%, because that’s a recipe for never publishing anything.
